How to use it
- 1. Pick your cup, or come from Tumbler Wrap with your cup and design.
- 2. Answer three questions: your rotary, a handle, one cup or a batch.
- 3. Measure your rotary if the jig needs it, and see the cup sitting in the jig in 3D.
- 4. Print the paper template and cut the fit test, then download for LightBurn, as SVG or DXF, or as an STL to 3D print.
What you can make
- • A batch of handled tumblers with the design in the same spot on every cup
- • A logo on the front and a name on the back, lined up, on a flat-bed or galvo laser
- • Level engraving on tapered cups on a roller rotary
- • A cradle that holds cups still for logo engraving at markets
Questions
Can I do a full wrap without a rotary?
Use the two-sided cradle for the front and back; a full wrap needs a rotary. There's an experimental strip cradle under Customise more.
Which jig do I need?
Answer three questions (rotary, handle, batch) and the tool picks one: a two-sided cradle with solid saddles, a handle stop, a levelling riser, an end stop or a centring cone.
What number do I type in LightBurn?
For a chuck, the object diameter at the middle of your design, shown on the page. For rollers, your wheel diameter. Steps per rotation come from your rotary's manual.
Will it fit my cup?
Real cups vary. Set the clearance, cut the small fit test, and print the 1:1 paper template to check before you cut wood.
Can I 3D print it?
Yes. The STL prints flat with no supports. Plywood swells, so seal it with finish, or print it.
