Type your names and watch the monogram draw itself on a cutting board, a tumbler, slate or a cut-out sign. A classic monogram puts the last-name initial big in the middle, with the first-name initial on the left and the middle-name initial on the right, so Emma Rose Smith becomes E S R, with a big S in the middle.

How to use it

  1. 1. Type your name, or two names for a couple.
  2. 2. Pick a style: one initial, three letters, a couple, a circle monogram, a name with its initial, or an Est. year design.
  3. 3. Pick a frame. Wreaths, beads, scallops and corners are drawn fresh each time you press Remix.
  4. 4. Say what it is for (cutting board, tumbler, door sign, wedding sign, coaster or ornament), check it, and download.

What you can make

  • • Wedding and anniversary cutting boards
  • • Couple's monogram door signs and wedding welcome signs
  • • Tumblers, slate coasters and napkin rings

Questions

Which files and machines?

A LightBurn file with the layers and starting settings for your laser, an SVG for xTool Creative Space or Glowforge, a DXF in millimetres, and a 300 dpi PNG for print on demand.

Will a cut-out monogram come out in one piece?

Yes. The letters are joined to the frame, thin script lines are thickened, and anything that would fall out is held by a small bridge. The check step tells you before you download.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes. Every frame is drawn by the tool's own code, and the letter styles are under the Open Font License.

Can I make it in two layers?

Yes. The frame becomes the back plate and the letters are cut separately, with light scored lines showing where to glue them.

Are my names uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser.
