Type your pet's name and your phone number and get a tag file that lines up on a real blank. The front carries the name, big and easy to read, with a paw, bone, heart, fish or star. The back carries how to reach you.

How to use it

1. 1. Pick how you make it: engrave a metal blank, or cut your own tag from wood or acrylic.
2. 2. Pick the blank: round 25, 32 or 38 mm, a small or large bone, a heart or a dog tag.
3. 3. Type the name, the phone number and up to two more lines. The words fit the tag by themselves.
4. 4. Check the sizes and download. For a batch, paste a list of pets and get one jig run.

Which files do I get?

A LightBurn file with the front and back as separate layers and starting settings for your laser, a separate jig file, SVG files for xTool Creative Space or Glowforge, a DXF in millimetres, and a printable proof at actual size.

Can a diode laser engrave stainless steel tags?

Not bare stainless. A diode or CO2 laser needs a marking spray on stainless steel and brass; a fiber laser marks them on its own. Anodized aluminum tags work on a diode, CO2 or fiber laser.

How do I engrave both sides?

Run the front, flip each tag over side to side like turning a page, then run the back layer. The jig, or the hole each tag leaves in the cut sheet, keeps every tag in the same spot.

Will the words be big enough to read?

The tool fits the words to the tag and warns you when a line comes out under about 1.8 mm tall on metal, with a shorter wording you can use in one tap.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes, sell what you make; just don't resell the files as templates or design packs. Every paw, bone, heart, fish, star and border is drawn by the tool's own code, and the letter styles are free for commercial use.

Is my phone number uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing is stored on our site.
