Make your own Halloween graveyard. Type a name, the years and a last word, and get a tombstone ready to cut and engrave, with ground stakes that push into the lawn. Or make a skeleton or zombie hand reaching out of the ground, a ghost, a bat on a dead branch, a cat on a fence, a pumpkin, a skull and crossbones or a coffin. Every piece is drawn fresh by the tool, so press Random until you find one you like.

How to use it

  1. 1. Pick what you are making: a tombstone, a hand, a ghost and so on.
  2. 2. Pick the look, or press Random. Tombstones come round, classic, gothic, broken, as a stone cross or a wooden cross, with cracks and moss if you like.
  3. 3. Type the words: "Here lies", a name, the years and a funny line.
  4. 4. Pick the size (20 to 60 cm and up) and the material, then download. Pieces bigger than your bed are split into tiles that lock together.

What you can make

  • • Tombstones with funny epitaphs for the front lawn
  • • Hands reaching out of the ground, in skeleton or zombie style
  • • A whole yard of ghosts, bats, pumpkins and coffins to sell at a fall market

Questions

Which files do I get?

A LightBurn file with the engraving, the texture and the cut on their own layers and starting settings for your laser, SVG files for xTool Creative Space or Glowforge, a DXF in millimetres for a CNC router, and a picture of it in a moonlit yard.

What material should I use outdoors?

Exterior or marine plywood, cast acrylic or HDPE. Don't use MDF outdoors: it soaks up water and falls apart. Prime and paint wood, and seal every cut edge and the stakes.

My laser bed is small. Can I still make a big tombstone?

Yes. The tool splits a big piece into tiles that fit your bed, with dovetail joints or splice plates, or it cuts the stakes as separate parts you screw on the back.

Can I cut it on a CNC router?

Yes. Pick CNC router: the inside corners are rounded to your bit, and the DXF has the profile cut and the engraving on separate layers.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes, sell what you make; just don't resell the files as templates or design packs. Every tombstone, hand and silhouette is drawn by the tool's own code, and the letter styles are free for commercial use.
